The Orme School is a college preparatory boarding school located in Mayer, serving grades 8-12 with a post graduate year. Set on a 26,000 acre cattle ranch in the temperate high desert of Arizona, Orme's rigorous college preparatory curriculum features Advanced Placement options in all major course areas, while being rounded out by a variety of unique electives such as Horsemanship, Sustainability, and Fine Arts.
Orme is a community of connection. Where students are seen, heard and valued. Our student body of 139 is comprised of some of the best students from around the world, with 33 countries, 17 states and 5 native American tribes represented on our campus. The diversity of our student body, coupled with our small class sizes allows for classroom discussions that take on a global perspective that many of the larger boarding schools are not able to offer. Our faculty hold advanced degrees and come from across the country and are eager to meet you and your family!
Our specialty programs include activities that truly capture the American Southwest such as outdoor adventure, engineering, music, fine arts and athletics. We have well rounded after school activities that help all students nurture new areas that can become their passion. We are also home to a state of the art equestrian facility and 40 horses! Students from around the world come to learn and master their riding skills.
We have TOEFL prep and we are a TOEFL test site. OUr ESL program is able to support students ranging from basic to proficient.
