Myongji University, founded in 1948, has evolved into one of the most respected higher educational institutions of Korea, offering various levels of degree programs (BA, MA, Ph.D. and MBA) along with the Korean Language Institute and the Institute of Continuing Education.

The founding spirit of Myongji Foundation is to educate capable individuals not only to contribute themselves to the development of our society and economy but also to world peace and advancement of human civilization by following Christian values of belief in God, respect for parents, love for one’s neighbor as oneself and preservation of the environment. Myongji University seeks “love, truth and service in Christian faith” as its educational philosophy, which means educating students with love in Christianity to enable them to search for truth and serve humankind. It embodies the literal meaning of Myongji (??), which stands for “knowledge and wisdom illuminate the world.”

Why?

Seoul Campus is located near the economic, political and cultural center of downtown Seoul. It has easy access to public transportations and is close to Sinchon area, one of the favorite haunts of university students. Seoul campus houses seven colleges: Humanities, Social Science, Business Administration, Law, Information and Communications Technologies Convergence, Continuing Education and General Studies, with 27 majors, the Korean Language Institute and the Institute of Continuing Education. College of Information and Communications Technology Convergence is a unique department that combines humanities and engineering to educate an academically well-rounded and problem-solving talents. College of Continuing Education was newly formed in 2016 after a strict evaluation process of the Korean government and the Ministry of Education. Only six universities were selected in Korea, and Myongji is one of the four located in Seoul.

Yongin Campus is a beautiful and natural setting campus located an hour away from Seoul. It is close to the Yongin City Hall, Traditional Korean Folk Village and Korea’s largest amusement park. It is home to five colleges: Natural Science, Engineering, Arts and Physical Education, Architecture and General Studies with 32 majors and the Institute of Continuing Education.
