The 1930’s marked an important phase in the history of the province of Quebec – then under Maurice Duplessis’s leadership – and in 1937, marked the launching of a technical career college in Montreal  called Aviron Technical Institute, founded by Captain W. J. Guy (an aviation pioneer) and Simon F. Flegg (a European educator and industrialist) who put their talents and expertise together and created a vocational school.

This was exactly the right moment, as the whole country of Canada was preparing for war.Aviron Technical Institute participated in thewar efforts by offering training in the aviation industry, training workers for skydiving, metal sheet transformation, welding assembly, drafting, auto mechanics, aeronautics, etc. Thanks to the quality of their technical education, our first graduates participated in World War 2 and acquired important positions. In fact, they paved the way for future generations.

Aviron’ssuccess stretched to Quebec City with the opening of a second college in 1961. Growing with many new programs and with full enrolment, in 1991, Aviron Quebec Technical College separated from Aviron Technical Institute of Montreal.

Since then, the excellence of Aviron Quebec’s programs has proven to be a great benefit for the Quebec City area. This is the result of the deep devotion of our staff, some of which have been with us for over 20 years. This invaluable loyalty is also shared by our graduates, who keep in touch with our placement assistance serviceagents as required year after year.
