Founded in 1891, Seattle University is a Jesuit, Catholic university located on a vibrant and green campus of 50 acres in the dynamic heart of Seattle, Washington.

The Princeton Review’s Best 391 Colleges for 2026 is out and for the 23rd consecutive year Seattle University has made the list, making it one of only about 15 percent of America’s four-year institutions to be featured as one of the nation’s top academic undergraduate universities.
Among the best national universities, Seattle University is the top-ranked university for best value of any institution in Washington state and is the highest ranked among private universities in the state for social mobility, according to the just-released 2025 undergraduate U.S. News & World Report "Best Colleges" rankings.
SU also ranked #63 nationally for Most Innovative, the only institution in Washington state recognized in that category, which focuses on curriculum, technology and teaching methods.
