Founded in 1872, Concord University (CU) is a public, liberal arts institution located in Athens, West Virginia with more than 2,100 students enrolled. CU's 123-acre picturesque campus has been called "The Campus Beautiful" for its scenic location on a knoll overlooking the mountains in the area. Ranked the #1 Public West Virginia Institution in Southern USA, and ranked #1 in West Virginia for offering scholarship aid, Concord University offers a very affordable tuition for international students. Concord University is renowned for its academic rigor and offers 80 areas of study, including popular areas of business, computer science, education, communications, recreation and tourism, art and biology. Concord University is located in the heart of the state's top outdoor recreational area where skiing, whitewater rafting, snowboarding, hiking, kayaking and other outdoor recreational opportunities are abundant. CU is a 90-minute drive from the West Virginia capital of Charleston and a three-hour drive from Charlotte, North Carolina.

Concord University offers a 15:1 faculty to student ratio with small classes and faculty who professionally experienced. CU also offers students the opportunity to participate in research projects or gain experience through internships. CU's on-campus ESL program is available for students who need English proficiency prior to starting classes. There is no fee to apply and academic scholarships range from $5,000 to $7,000 for new freshmen and $2,000 to $3,000 for transfer students. ESL requirements for admissions are modest and on-campus ESL classes are available. A test optional college, Concord University accepts a wide range of students. Located in a safe, residential area, the city of Athens, West Virginia was voted #21 as a Best Place to Live. Concord University is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission.
