DCU is a young, dynamic and ambitious university with a distinctive mission to transform lives and societies through education, research and innovation. Since admitting its first students in 1980, DCU has grown in both student numbers and size and is now a multi campus environment Glasnevin, located just north of Dublin city. In the last nine years, DCU has twice been named Sunday Times ‘University of the Year’.

Over 50,000 students have graduated from DCU and are now playing significant roles in enterprise and business globally. DCU is Ireland’s most innovative university, and in 2016 will deliver more than 200 programmes to over 16,000 students across its five faculties – Humanities and Social Sciences, Science and Health, Engineering and Computing, DCU Business School and the DCU Institute of Education. In the 2016 QS Top 50 Under 50 league table of the top young universities in the world, DCU’s ranking moved up two places to 44th in the world. It is the only Irish university to feature in these rankings which are designed to emphasise the potential and excellence of universities without decades or centuries of established reputation.

Our School is distinguished by achieving AACSB accreditation in 2016 (one of only two Schools in Ireland).

Our Executive MBA has been accredited by AMBA since 2004.

Our MSc in Management is ranked in the Financial Times Top 90 globally.

Four of the School’s specialist masters programmes were ranked in the Top 30 in their subject in the world in the latest Eduniversal Best Masters ranking.

Dublin City University has risen five places to no. 74 in the Young University Rankings published today by Times Higher Education.

The Young University Rankings, previously known as the THE 150 Under 50, have now been extended to include 200 of the top global institutions established since 1967.  Universities featured are measured on their teaching, research, citations, international outlook and industry income, with methodologies taking into account the special characteristics of younger universities. 

The university was named Irish University of the Year 2004-2005 by the Sunday Times, UK.

 The university was named "Irish University of the Year" by the Sunday Times newspaper once again for the 2010–2011 academic year. 

Dublin City University has been ranked 19th in the world and first in Ireland for its graduate employment rate, according to the 2020 QS Graduate Employability Rankings .
