Why?

Why UMass Lowell?

STUDY

Located about 25 miles northwest of Boston in the high-tech corridor of Massachusetts, we have built strong collaboration ties with an array of leading technology companies, such as Nvidia Research Westford, Red Hat, Raytheon, BAE, and Honeywell.

Besides, UMass Lowell is also committed to educating students for lifelong success in a diverse world, and to conducting research and outreach activities that sustain the economic, environmental, and social health of the region. With a campus-wide strategic planning initiative launched in February of 2009, UMass Lowell is on its way to repositioning itself as a world-class institution.

LIVING

Lowell is a city with both historical and natural scenery. With the legacy from the industrial revolution age, Lowell is the home for Lowell National Historical Park which possesses around 40 historical manufacturing sites, factories, and tools. Because Merrimack river quietly flows through our town, you can easily access natural scenic areas and see animals at the riverbanks.

Love mountains? No worries! You can drive 10 miles north to the Granite State (New Hampshire) that has a series of breath-taking mountains including the famous White Mountains. Note, New Hampshire is both sales and income tax-free. Besides, beaches are also around 20 miles east of Lowell. Last but not the least, the neighboring communities of Lowell have extraordinary schools with affordable housing prices.
