Glasgow Caledonian University is a distinctive, inclusive and forward-looking university that is committed to its social mission to promote the common good. We have become an international centre of excellence in higher education, promoting employability and global citizenship in our graduates. We win awards for our support and commitment to the student experience, whilst delivering innovation through our world-class research in key areas of strength. We have a tradition of widening access to higher education for talented individuals regardless of their backgrounds, and we leverage our intellectual and social capital for the benefit of the communities we serve in Scotland and internationally.

With a modern campus in the heart of the vibrant and welcoming city of Glasgow, our university has an excellent learning environment. It includes our award-winning Sir Alex Ferguson Library that provides spaces for social learning as well as quiet study. Harnessing the latest technologies and industry expertise, Glasgow Caledonian University aims to unlock talent and equip our students with the skills to enable them to succeed in an increasingly competitive workplace.

We work with the Students’ Association to develop our students through the Student Leaders Programme, and, through our international partners in China, Oman and other countries, we facilitate academic and research links and international staff and student exchanges.

Why?

1. Career-focused programmes
The vast majority of our graduates find work or further study within six months of graduating, and we offer a variety of innovative, specialised courses. The lecturers for your chosen course will have good industry contacts to help you with placements and future career opportunities.

2. World-class facilities
With the Saltire Centre at its hub, our modern, high-tech campus includes moving library shelves for easy access to books, “think pods” with whiteboards for group study, and private “inflatable igloo” study areas. Apart from maybe a beer fountain and chocolate trees, what more could you want?

3. Innovative teaching
With a virtual hospital, high-tech broadcasting suite, fashion factory, and even an online Second Life campus, Glasgow Caledonian put a lot of effort into helping you enjoy your program and gain the professional skills and knowledge employers want.

4. Award-winning student support
Facilities such as the Base - our one-stop information and support centre offering help with everything from borrowing laptops to getting council tax rebates - have helped us win awards for our student support, including the Times Higher Education Outstanding Support for Overseas Students award.

5. Recognized for research
Our research in the allied health professions was placed in the top 10 universities in the UK in the 2008 Research Assessment Exercise, and our work in rehabilitation sciences was placed top in the UK. Our research in construction and the built environment was rated best in Scotland and in the top 20 in the UK.

6. Designed for today’s students
Everything from the highly affordable sports center, Arc, and the convenient, single-site campus to the Saltire Centre’s multiple power points, workstations, study areas, and free Wi-Fi is designed with you in mind.

7. Location, location, location
Glasgow is perfect for students. It’s got a vibrant live music and arts scene, jumping nightlife, accessible sports facilities, spacious city parks and much more. And it’s all within easy access of Scotland’s spectacular scenery and world-renowned festivals.  Why not see for yourself at our International Summer School?

8. Friendly, close-knit, convenient campus
Our single-site campus is friendly, personal and close-knit. You’ll be on first-name terms with your lecturers and the campus design makes it easy to meet friends and classmates for breaks or study sessions. Not only that, but it sits right in the middle of the city nearby all transport links.

9. Diverse and cosmopolitan
Glasgow Caledonian is open to anyone, regardless of nationality, age, background, and schooling. That means we provide a great opportunity to meet and make friends with a diverse group of new people.
