Lyceum International School is a Private, non-profit entity operating as a registered business venture under the companies act of Sri Lanka. Lyceum International School was founded in 1993 by a visionary educator Mr. Mohan Lal Grero, to provide English medium education up to Grade 12. The school is co-educational and also committed to the pursuit of excellence in teaching and learning in Pre-School, Primary, Secondary, High School and tertiary skill based education.
Lyceum enables its students to experience growth in international ideals and character in a multi-ethnic, multi-cultural and multi-religious, school environment. Academic and co-curricular programmes conducted by Lyceum International School, comply fully with international standards. The current student population of the schools stand at 18,000.
Lyceum provides 2 years of Pre-school education (Upper-Nursery and Pre-Grade) and 12 years of formal schooling. The school also conducts 7 different subjects to impart Life Skills compulsory for Grade 6, 7 and 8 students. The UK Cambridge and Sri Lanka National Ordinary Level / Advanced Level Examinations leading to university entrance are very popular among middle income group parents. The high school programme is geared to prepare students for entrance to universities all over the world. Lyceum students, who graduated from world leading universities, have been serving the global community since the year 2000.
Since 2002, Lyceum International School has produced, World Best and Island Best high achievers in OL & AL Accounting, English Literature, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Computing, Human Biology and Biology at the UK based Edexcel and Cambridge International Examinations. Many Lyceum students have are currently attending top IVY leage universities. Lyceum students have obtained excellent results at the Sri Lanka National OL and AL Examinations conducted by the Department of Examinations Sri Lanka
