Chechen State University is one of the oldest higher education institutions in the south of Russia. Chechen State University was established in 1938 as Grozny Teacher Training Institute. Today Chechen State University has 72 departments and 13 faculties. Chechen State University has over 1000 academic and administrative staff. To date Chechen State University has trained almost 20000 students. One of the largest and leading departments at the University is the Medical Institute that offers courses in General Medicine, Pediatrics, Stomatology, Medical Physics and Medical Chemistry. The Institute owns latest medical technology equipment with is own Accreditation Centre, Simulation Centres and Labs. The University also boasts its Technopark - launchpad for student and resident business ideas and start-ups. The Technopark offers comfortable space for students to socialise and develop their training and skills. Today Chechen State University has its own botanical garden, zoological museum, historical museum, on-campus libraries with field-specific books and online subscriptions.
