The University of Mauritius (UoM) is the national University of Mauritius. It is the oldest and largest university in the country in terms of student enrolment and curriculum offered. The University is located in Réduit in the Moka district and has recently extended into the Ebène Cybercity. It was founded in 1965 and has awarded Diplomas, Degrees, and Postgraduate qualifications to more than 50000 awardees. It is funded by the Government. It has 6 faculties as well as research centres and also offers programmes through the online mode of delivery through its Centre for Innovative & Lifelong Learning. The University has state-of -the-art facilities to promote quality teaching, research and innovation and has established a number of local and international partnerships with other renowned institutions and the industry. The prestigious University of Arizona has established a micro-campus at the University of Mauritius for dual-degree programmes at very affordable fees. At the University of Mauritius, international students are charged the same fees as the local students, under our fee-paying structure in place.
The University of Mauritius has excellent facilities for the welfare of students namely auditoriums, lecture halls, classrooms, computer labs, science labs (including wet labs), a farm, e-library, gymnasium, football pitch and tennis courts. There is university-wide WIFI coverage on campus. There is a vibrant student community on campus and the Alumni of this University have moved on to excel in different spheres of life and in society.
