UNIVERSITI PENDIDIKAN SULTAN IDRIS

Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI), also known as Sultan Idris Education University, is the oldest teacher training institution in Malaysia, with a history dates back more than 90 years. UPSI provides exceptional leadership in the field of education through learning, research, publication, consultancy and community services. UPSI has served as one of the key players in training teachers for Malaysian public schools and to date has graduated more than 80,000 teachers. UPSI also caters to the manpower needs of other sectors, locally and internationally.

The university strives to contribute to the development of the nation with a knowledge-based community in the form of educationist, who are problem-solvers, well-versed in the humanities as well in the field of science and technology. Currently, over 30,000 students including hundreds of international students from more than 30 countries holding a tradition of academic excellence and standard.
Offering career-relevant programmes as well as exchange and mobility programmes that aim to enhance students’ professionalism as educators and encourage students to focus in addressing global issues and multicultural challenges. The on-going effort will enable them to play a distinctive role in keeping a balance especially in communication, values, and culture against some impacts of the information technology.
