The BBC in its report has also mentioned the recent results of Alif Ailaan's survey, according to which enrollment in primary education and quality of education had improved in Punjab over the last four years.

According to the survey, a greater number of children in primary, secondary and higher secondary education had been observed in Punjab, which was a welcoming sign.

However. a decrease in pre-primary level was recorded at 3.23 percent, while at the middle level, it remained at two percent.

Whereas, a seven percent increase at primary level was witnessed, while at secondary level, the increase was 13 percent and at higher secondary level the increase ratio remained 526 percent.

In Punjab, the number of students enrolled in higher education schools increased from 87,218 in 2013-14 to 546,616 in 2016-17, the survey said.

The comparison of data received from all the provincial governments between 2013-14 to 2016-17, makes clear that except Balochistan, all the provinces witnessed increase in the number many times, however Punjab's performance had been better than other provinces.

The Alif Ailaan survey was gaining popularity internationally because during previous four years, allthe provinces had put their efforts in a bid to improve enrollment number at the schools, while Punjabremained the most successful in that regard.
