ABBOTTABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 6th Jun, 2018 ) :Education Testing and Evaluation Authority (ETEA) has decided to conduct admission test for the engineering, medical and dental colleges for academic session 2018 at Ayub Medical College (AMC), Abbottabad.

This was stated by Dean AMC, Professor Dr Salma Kundi while talking to media men in her office here on Wednesday.

She said a decision was made earlier for the test to be conducted at Haripur University, but now we are trying our best to conduct the test in Abbottabad.

The Dean said that Abbottabad is the centre of Hazara region which is easily accessible for everyone and thousands of students coming from far-flung areas can get the accommodation and other facilities with ease.

Dr Salma said it is the institute's top priority to facilitate students and faculty members of AMC without any discrimination. She said all the decisions will be made on merit basis and favoritism policy will strictly be prohibited.

While talking about the issue of pollution and climate change, she said we need to find the root cause of the diseases.

"We have a huge non-functional land in AMC, so we will use it for cultivation purposes. More and more trees will be planted with the help of students." Replying to a question about Dentistry Department, she said "the building was completed a long time ago, we are going to make it functional as soon as possible where state of the art facilities will be provided to the students and faculty of Dental College as well as patients of dentistry departments".

Professor Dr Salma Kundi has recently taken charge as Dean Ayub Medical College, after the resignation of Professor Dr Aziz-un-Nisa Abbasi.

She is the professor and Head of Physiology Department for the last 12 years. She has done her post-graduate training form England and has been working on the senior administrative positions. Besides being head of Department, she has also served as vice principal and chief provost at AMC.
