'We need 2,000 new schools'

GURUKOTA of primary and secondary education, Professor Paul Mavima, says Zimbabwe is demanding 2 056 new schools to fit the number of children.

They made a statement recently in Senate when responding to the dispatched inquiry of Mashonaland West at this court, Senator Caroline Tsitsi Mugabe.

Sen Mugabe wanted to know the steps taken by the branch in view that independent schools, which are rising in four parts of the world, have been legally registered and are in compliance with the branch's requirements.

Prof. Prof. Valo said the depression of many independent schools was due to school shortage.

"The rising rise of schools is a symbol of the graduation of schools in the country. Our branch conducted a survey in 2013 and found that we needed some 2 056 new schools to fit the number of children.

"What it means is that there is a market for education and so those in business take advantage of this. Some of them eventually spend their homes at school, "says Prof Mavima.

He continues: "The problem is that if this happens, we as a branch do not know it, it does not know what kind of person we will be teaching these children. Do you not know some of the old things that happen as if the children were not tormented, and so forth.

"We do not stop businessman in order to start school, but what we need is that he must first fulfill all the requirements according to the law."

Prof Usually said school should be in an elevated area and with other needs as a goat.

"Besides, there is our step as a branch we take when we regularly talk to these independent schools in order to see if they have the expected teachers and are following the curriculum for teaching children," Prof Prof Professor said.

They call on the redistribution level in their branch, there are inspectors who should conduct a survey of schools that are legally registered and not.

"We try to help some of them get registered when they meet the requirements. There is a high cost of registering private schools, "Prof. Professor said. In this regard, they say that their branch is sometimes faced with urgency in order to undertake a study of independent schools and time due to the decline in finance and schools today.

"We have the way we use in evaluating independent and unprecedented schools that we expect to close. But when it comes to achieving the requirements, we help to be enrolled because it is useful in reducing the number of new schools needed in the country, "they say.

The government, said Prof Mavima, who is working with different groups in the view that new schools have been built throughout Zimbabwe.

"We are addressing this issue and working with different groups as we say, let's work together, get supporters, donate money, build school and use it for ourselves because we get the best education if we serve as a State instead of leaving anybody to have a school," they say.
