A memorandum of understanding was signed between Azerbaijan University of Languages (AUL) and Indonesia's Malanq Islamic University on March 6.
The memorandum was signed by the rector of AUL, academician Kamal Abdulla and rector of Malaghan Islamic University, Professor Haci Maskuri Bakri.

A memorandum envisages cooperation in the field of exchange of students and teachers, cooperation in the field of scientific and pedagogical cadres, joint scientific events, preparation of scientific publications and a number of other areas.

K.Abdulla noted that AUL, known not only in Azerbaijan but also in other countries, has great potential for establishing inter-state relations. Speaking about the five faculties, the rector gave information about the languages ​​and cultures taught here. Talking about multicultural values ​​of Azerbaijan, where different representatives of different nationalities and religious confessions settled, K.Abdulla spoke about the activities of the Scientific-Research Laboratory of Multiculturalism at the university. Speaking about the Azerbaijani multiculturalism subject in many foreign universities, the Rector said that he was ready to cooperate with the teaching of this subject at the University of Malanq Islamic University.

Indonesian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Hüsnan Bey Fanani thanked for warm welcome. He said he was delighted to introduce guests from Indonesia to AUL.

Rector of Islamic University of Malta, Professor H. Maskuri said Azerbaijan is rapidly developing and closer in terms of similarity of religious values ​​of both countries. H. Maskuri said that more than thirteen thousand students study at the university headed by him. She spoke about the activities of ten faculties at a university where foreign students are studying. H. Maskuri Malanq spoke about Islamic values ​​at Islamic University and emphasized the importance of multiculturalism.
