ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 11th Jul, 2018 ) :Around 127 students of first badge of Science Talent Farming Scheme, a project of pakistanScience Foundation (PSF), awarded laptop here on Wednesday to acknowledge their outstanding performance besides opening ways for their bright future.
Speaking on the occasion, Chairman PakistanScience Foundation, Major (Retd) Qaiser Majeed Malik said they were committed to provide students with sufficient financial and logistic support giving them conducive environment for concentrating on research and innovation activities.
The chairman said only those nation flourished rapidly in comity of nations who invested in their human resource, adding, the project Student Talent Farming Scheme (STFS) was therefore conceived by the Pakistan Science Foundation (PSF) to follow the internationally recognized notion.
"The basic objective of the project is to support talented and industrious science students fromgovernment schools in their studies and groom them to become prolific researchers", he shared.
He commented that it was the earnest obligation of the Government to optimally harness the actual potential of the youth.
He further said we reinforced our youth by exposing them to the premium academic and research institutions both in Pakistan and abroad.
Later, Project Director, Student Talent Farming Scheme, Dr.
Ahsan told APP that they had already distributed 300 laptop among the students of second badge of the project but due to some technical reasons the back log of first badge was not cleared which would be completed in next few days.
He added, "Our third badge is under way which would be accommodated with all financial and logistical facilities to complete their studies and focus on their research with free mind and full concentration." Students from different institution across the country selected under the programme, received their laptops during the ceremony.
A student of BS Computer Science Hamda Zainab, who was selected under the scheme on her outstanding performance in Matric sharing her views said, "I am happy to receive Laptop today as it will help in her studies".
She said a number of bright students could not achieve their goals due to financial constraints which was a great loss for the country in the long run but such kinds of schemes were encouraging paving their way towards their dreams with self esteem and respect.
She lauded the efforts of PSF and paid gratitude to the government for considering the problems of talented students.
She also urged for launching more schemes under which more students could be accommodated and come forward to pursue their studies with zeal and enthusiasm.
