Suleyman Demirel University is a private higher educational institution located in Kaskelen, near Almaty.

Nowadays the university has 4 faculties:

  • Faculty of Law and Social sciences;
  • Faculty of Education and Humanities;
  • Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences;
  • SDU Business school.

SDU was established on December 17th 1996 by International Foundation «????? ????». University derives its name from former president of Turkey, Suleyman Demirel. The President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, and the former president of Turkey, Suleyman Demirel participated opening ceremony.  Nursultan Nazarbayev suggested naming university by Suleyman Demirel.

The main activity of the University is the implementation of educational curriculum of undergraduate, graduate education and supplementary education for adults. University programs are focused on the needs of modern society and adapted to rapidly changing social, political and economic situation in the country. The University created the conditions for the availability and quality of education that meets the requirements of international and national legislation, for continuous training of the teaching staff and better management of the University. The faculties of the University conduct research in various fields of knowledge. The University offers a wide range of additional educational services. It is focused on the development and implementation of educational, research and scientific programs in such a way to provide students with the necessary skills for professional growth and personal development. Respect for intellectual potential and dignity of the student as an individual, are of paramount importance.

 

Why?

 Starting from 2013, Suleyman Demirel University (SDU) organizes INFOMATRIX-ASIA competition in KazakhstanInfomatrix is an international computer project-based competition, born from a desire to bring the world's best IT students together. This year SDU is delighted to announce that it is organizing the 6th INFOMATRIX-ASIA computer project-based competition, with more exciting and challenging categories for students all over the globe. Nearly, 400 students from more than 28 countries participate in different categories.      

      In November 2017, the XIV interregional forum on the theme "Human Capital Development" was held with the participation of the heads of the two countries N.A. Nazarbayev and V.V. Putin in Chelyabinsk, Russia.The delegation of the university presented an innovative project "Digital University" aimed at automatic processing of information using such principles as "artificial intelligence" and "computer vision".  

      Eventually, SDU is proud of graduates working for Ernst and Young, KPMG, Price Waterhouse Coopers, Deloitte, Oracle, Google, Silicon Valley, Twitter, Samsung, Booking.com, Amazon, Egov.kz, Tengizshevroil, etc.
